Carry out a Martin County mugshot search without charge to stay updated on the latest arrests and see who has been recently booked into the local jail.
Mugshots are images of an offender —typically both front and side angles— taken after an arrest for identification. The county makes this record available to the general public through various custodians for free.
This brief resource lists the available custodians with links to official databases and provides helpful instructions to accelerate your search.
Where Can You Access Mugshots for Free?
Mugshots can primarily be found by performing a county level search. Police capture photographs of individuals arrested and held in custody. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) maintains arrest and inmate records across the county, so this is the best option to start your search.
Additionally, the offender’s mugshot can also be viewed through the relevant city police department. City law enforcement agencies who made the arrest provide police reports for arrests that happened within their city limits.
Moreover, the Florida Department of Corrections also makes photos of individuals incarcerated in the state prisons available to the public through their online database.

If you can’t find the offender you’re looking for at the city or county level, they may be in either a state or federal prison. The next section explains how to access mugshots of individuals incarcerated in state and federal prisons.
Viewing Prisoners’ Mugshots Using State & Federal Resources
Mugshots are not only taken at the time of an arrest but also for individuals who are already in prisons.
City and county-level searches might not work if the offender is imprisoned in one of the state prisons, even though that’s where they are from.
In Florida, prisoners’ mugshots can be accessed via state-level searches in various ways. The Florida Department of Correction offers several databases that allow the public to view these records for free.10
Records of individuals that are behind bars at the state level, whether for current, escaped or released prisoners, under supervision or an absconder can be found by utilizing the DOC’s search feature.
If unsure of their status, you can use the Offender Information Search to view records, including mugshots of individuals that are currently incarcerated or have been previously imprisoned in the state correctional facility.11 This search tool requires the offender’s name or DC number to search. Search results show offender information including their mugshot, personal information, offense, current status and sentence.
Another option for tracking down offender photos and details is by sending a public records request. If the above means do not return the results you’re seeking, you may also contact the Florida Department of Correction at 850.488.7052 for inquiries.
On the other hand, information about individuals confined in the federal prisons can be accessed through the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ Find An Inmate Tool.13 The online search results don’t show mugshots, so you may contact the BOP directly instead if you’d like to view them.
As defined in the Florida Statute 119, information regarding the arrest and incarcerated individuals, including mugshots, are available to the public – but with some exemptions.14 Records obtained must not be used to harass, intimidate or for professional purposes and must comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the guidelines set by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and all other local, state, and federal laws.
Knowing these legal considerations and process for how to obtain this information, you can now perform a Martin County mugshot search seamlessly; for a broader search that includes warrants, criminal, property information, vital records, and other public records, you may refer to the instructions for accessing Martin County public records.
